Multi-Sport Turf Area
Sportsplay delivered a 1,520m² artificial turf multi-sport area at Tinwald School, designed to provide a durable and flexible recreation surface for everyday student use.
The project focused on creating a space that supports multiple activities within a single surface while maintaining durability for high daily foot traffic typical in school environments.
Project Scope
The project included the design and installation of a multi-sport turf area incorporating:
Netball court
Basketball court
Cricket practice wicket
Target wall play area
Integrated multi-sport line markings
All sport markings were cut directly into the turf during installation to ensure long-term durability and clear visibility.
Multi-Sport Design
The layout was designed to maximise use of the available space while supporting a range of activities for different age groups.
Key features include:
A full netball court for organised school and community sport
Basketball court markings integrated within the same playing area
A dedicated cricket practice wicket for skill development
A target wall area encouraging ball skills and informal play
This approach allows the same surface to support structured sport, skill training and unstructured recreation.
Surface System
The artificial turf system was selected for durability and consistent performance in a high-use school environment.

The OUTCOME
The completed facility provides Tinwald School with a versatile multi-sport recreation area that supports a wide range of activities within a single durable surface.
Students and the community can now use the area daily for sport, physical education and general play, while the school benefits from a surface designed to withstand continuous use with minimal maintenance.
